Deep Roots and a Record of Commitment to Mendocino County

Madeline Cline was born and raised in Mendocino County, and multiple generations of her family still reside here today. Madeline's parents started their small business here, Clines Unlimited Construction, of which they operated for over 30 years. Like so many other local families, this is the community where her family chose to raise their children, grow a business, and build their lives.

After high school, Madeline attended Sonoma State University where she participated in activities such as student government and model united nations, and earned her bachelor’s degree. While in college, Madeline spent her summers working for Savings Bank of Mendocino County.

After college, Madeline worked in the California State Assembly, advising a member of the state legislature on public policy and legislation, helping craft solutions to some of the toughest issues our state and community face. She specifically worked on issues related to natural resources, tax reform, labor and employment, public safety and housing. During this time, Madeline also earned a Graduate Certificate in Policy and Government from Sacramento State University.

After leaving the Assembly, Madeline took her skills and knowledge of the legislative process to the private sector, where she worked with the business community, including small and veteran owned businesses, to advocate for improving California’s business climate. She also worked closely with state agencies to help them better utilize technology in serving our residents. Madeline has also worked closely with local governments across the state on their public policy and operational priorities. Currently, Madeline works here in Mendocino County as a consultant, advocating for businesses and farmers in the local policy making process.

Madeline and her family have been dedicated community members throughout their lives. They have actively supported and volunteered with programs such as the Ukiah Valley Christmas Effort and Deep Valley Christian School. Madeline was also appointed by Supervisor Glenn McGourty to the Mendocino County Fish and Game Commission, where she advocates for sustainable conservation practices and public access to lands for hunting and fishing.
